Lighthouse Marlow

RCN 1178062, Marlow

A Bible-themed, one week summer holiday activity week is held during the school summer holidays each year. The activities carried out during the week include stage entertainment, bible-based talks and activities, craft activities, sports and games

The Lighthouse Christian holiday week has run in Marlow for over 15 years. We normally take around 450 children from the local community and involve about 300 teenagers and adults as volunteers. It is fantastic that now young people, who started off as small children in the Lighthouse creche or in the youngest age groups, take leading roles in many areas.

Lighthouse Marlow runs for five days at the beginning of August. Children are on site from 10am – 3.30pm. At Lighthouse children enjoy a range of activities including worship, learning about Biblical events, sport, drama, craft, and the ever-popular messy games - with losers ending up in the gunge tank. Everything links back to the theme of the week.

Despite concerns about the ongoing Covid pandemic, the Lighthouse Marlow children's holiday week ran in 2021 with reduced numbers of children and volunteers and with additional safeguards to reduce risks. The 236 children who came all had an amazing time, as did our 183 volunteers.1641751770_img_0253.jpeg

Our funding comes from the parents, local churches and other organisations, however it is always challenging to break even! We reduced our costs in 2021 where we could, however these were only just met by donations received. Additional financial donations would help us plan a larger, more inclusive event for 2022 and would help to secure the future of Lighthouse in Marlow.1641751803_img_3452.jpg
