LIFEWORKS GLOBAL
Lifeworks Global is a UK-based charity delivering innovative solutions in agriculture to empower communities to achieve resilience and sustainability. We partner with both local and multilateral organisations to provide training and support, and are actively engaged in addressing hunger and the challenges of food security. Lifeworks' training has an amazing impact. Training a farmer costs just 40 pence but allows them to increase their income by an average of $50 per year. We have delivered trainings in numerous countries in Africa including Ghana, Uganda and Kenya in collaboration with partners such as Caritas, FAO and many local organisations. With your help we can fund more trainings to share this with a wider community of farmers. Thank you

Lifeworks provides training to empower small-scale farmers to achieve resilience and sustainability through simple solutions using readily available materials.
After 10 years in the field, our methods have evolved, improving our impact. Now, our cascade training model costs $0.50c (fifty cents) per farmer – and doubles their yield and income.
We work with established partners running projects in farming communities, mostly in sub Saharan Africa. We are a nonprofit, bare bones organisation with 95% of funds going to training and support.
What we do
Empower: Lifeworks trains trainers – groups of people well placed to train farmers: agronomists, programme officers working for NGOs, leaders of farmers’ unions, and others supporting farming communities. We teach the essentials of soil analysis and support them to claim the $70 a tonne for carbon tax after 4-5 years. We also give them support and guidelines to set-up small agro companies for income and employment.
Embed: Our training covers production and use of microbial inputs, project management and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. This means trainers can successfully embed the techniques in the farming communities they support. We provide continuous support and guidance to those we train. This we do through online chat groups and forums so farmers can share experience and knowledge across countries.
Why we do it
Our work is more urgent than ever as the growing impact of soil degradation and climate change affect the lives of millions, with the poorest being hit the hardest. 10 million acres are lost each year, 75% of farmers are small holders.
Why we need help now
Lifeworks has been privately funded since its inception in 2008. Having signed agreements with 12 major organisations across Africa, we now have the major opportunity to reach 2-3 million farmers, who are increasingly desperate.
