Aim: Bringing our bold, wild, and unfiltered show Life Would Be Pretty Dull Without Sex, Raves and MDMA to the Fringe — help make it happen!
Two writers, one performer and friends coming to Edinburgh to play!
“`Life Would be Pretty Dull without Sex, Raves & MDMA captures the moment when Grief Meets the Dancefloor. An existential, dark comedy that will have ravers and theatre-goers alike begging for more.
Relive the power of 90s raves with Bex, a fortysomething woman, as she tackles the constant dance between letting go and holding on. Featuring iconic tracks by dance legends Orbital, this play takes the audience on a hilarious deep-dive into Bex’s world, inviting them to engage with the messiness of how we deal with grief, loss and navigating life.
An Edinburgh Fringe debut, developed in Wales, Life Would Be Pretty Dull Without Sex, Raves and MDMA is an exploration of the complexities of grief, the contradictions of survival, and the joy that can come from embracing both. Drawing on personal experience, the show lays bare Bex’s relationship with her deceased brother, their conversation - sometimes playful, often raw - serving as a thread that weaves through Bex’s journey of self-discovery, loss and emotional rebirth. Be prepared to be moved by the beat, embrace pumping bodies and welcome that baseline in with this highly personal yet universal play.
Rebecca’s experience as the Founder and Producer at Let's Create Drama has seen her work closely with economically challenged communities, including survivors of domestic violence – leading workshops, and devising theatre performances, she has honed her ability to create meaningful, community-driven projects. Similarly, with Wonder Women Events, she has supported and celebrated female-identifying artists, producing sold-out performances that amplify marginalised voices. This experience has equipped her with the skills to create original theatre that resonates with diverse audiences.
