Proportional Representation - It’s Now or Never

I'm in my mid eighties and have never lived anywhere where my vote has counted . I would like to see a radical change in the voting system before I die !

I am tired of having no voice, no representation, no influence Our government should be a government of all for all but it's not is it?

Let's do this, let's become a proper democracy where we all get a chance to be represented.

Fed up with being stuck in a safe seat for the last 40 years.......

We're already having our democratic rights taken away by the proposed Police, Crime and Sentencing Bill, therefore, now more than ever, we really need to have proportional representation

If we already had proportional representation, we wouldn't have had to suffer for years and years under a Tory government which has now become openly and brazenly corrupt (as well as thoroughly incompetent).

I support democracy, not a system that disenfranchises people.

I have supported STV since 1970, have lived under a version of it for 10 years and am sure that it produces the fairest representation possible of public opinion. This moment is the nearest we have come in my lifetime to have a serious chance of electoral reform...one mighty heave!

PR is essential in the UK. 43% of the votes cast in Dec 2019 gave the Conservatives 59% of the MPs in Parliament. A system which does this is crazy, open to corruption and totally undemocratic.

I am weary of the current winner-takes-all system. I hope we will see a change to a fairer PR system and a future of coalition governments like most other European countries enjoy.

Keep pushing for positive change. Make democracy equal.

First past the post does not represent public opinion fairly so that some people do not feel inclined to vote at all.

Getting closer, PR has to happen!

We need PR to get a truly representative Parliament & to obviate tactical voting. Even more, our present system + our unwritten 'constitution' is very vulnerable to generating a truly DANGEROUS government, with fascist tendencies, as we have at present.

It's over 30 years since I had a vote in a general election where I didn't already know who was going to win my constituency. FPTP is just wrong, and we need to fix it.

My vote has never been a winner; maybe it will be soon.

Getting a fairer representation for my children and grandchildren generation is a worthwhile legacy.

Keep plugging the UK and Belarus are the only two countries without PR. It’s an uncomfortable partner.

I'd like to see what this country looks like with actual representation.
