I started running with the LRG group in January 2024. I have been a runner for a number of years but I have a love/hate relationship with it. This group has given me the motivation I need to keep going & get out there, especially in the dark cold evenings and show me that I can run.
Although I have done the Cambridge half a few times before, this time having a reason to run by raising money makes my training & race much more important.
Nic & Anna do a fantastic job arranging runs, socials & events/races, even organising a trip to Cologne for a park run, all done in their own time & voluntarily.
As well as this, inspiring us to keep running.
Run leaders are also an important part & are there to lead & motivate us on our runs. Without these some runs would not happen. To train these leaders costs money therefore fundraising is required, which is why I am running for the Let’s run girls.
At Let’s Run Girls, our mission is to inspire women to lead healthier, happier and more connected lives. Let’s Run Girls is a social enterprise and funds raised will be reinvested to help us achieve this mission.
We currently have Let’s Run Girls running groups in 15 different locations across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire and we are always looking to expand into new areas. All our running groups are free to join and led by our amazing team of volunteer Run Leaders.
Money raised will help us develop new Run Leaders to help us get more women out walking and running.
