Who is Rendez -vous Dance ?
Rendez-Vous dance is an independent project based dance company led by award-winning choreographer Mathieu Geffré. Our core mission is to engage with LGBTQIA+ themes and voices through our work.
What is the show?

What songs may do… is the first full-evening production by the company. Revealed by Nina Simone’s songs, this duet performed by Oliver Chapman and Paolo Pisarra exposes the fractured relationship of a once romantic couple as they delve into their past in an attempt to rebuild their future together. Through Simone’s music, this dance piece shines a light on our deep rooted connection to memories through music and proposes the power of what songs may do.
Poetic, passionate, physical and emotional, What songs may do… is an inclusive dance piece that celebrates love in all its diversity.

Why go to the Fringe?
Following fantastic reviews and recommendations we believe this work deserves to meet more audiences and make its Scottish premiere at Dance Base the home of Dance at the fringe!
With your support we can go to Scotland for the first time and reach new audiences including our wonderful LGBTQIA+ communities, fringe attendees and hopefully some international programmers!!
The Fringe is a really important showcase for artists and work to gain visibility and meet programmes and international bookers!
Please show your support this Pride month and help us get to the fringe!!!!!
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Taking a show to the Fringe is really expensive, we don't receive any regular funding. We are committed to paying our artists and team well and looking after them. All costs total £11,000!!! We have done our best to get support and have been lucky to receive help from with Curious Arts, Lumo Trains and Keep it Fringe. But we need your help to raise the last £2500!!
We want to make our supporters to date proud, and showcase this important work made in the North East of England to more people!
