Our aim is to continue to help, develop and grow our clubs players. To enable this to happen we need to provide, External Portable Lighting

Our Club Within the heart of Our Community
Over the years, we are proud of the growth our club has embraced. We are now hosting such a large number of community players, that we are very lucky to still see the numbers rising. Within our club we have almost 250 players, from ages of 4 up to our Seniors & Vets teams. We currently run our club, from the renovated changing rooms, which is slowly becoming a challenge with such large numbers of players and families. We also offer Community Rugby Fit sessions, that are held for those who wish to take part with the fitness element of the game too.
We wish to provide our players, with outdoor training pitch lighting. Currently we have no training pitch lighting and we sadly suffered some damage over the covid period to our lights. We currently have a lot of players, unable to benefit from outdoor allocated evening training times. The lack of external lighting, outdoors at the pitches. Has put restrictions on the coaching courses and Development skill sessions, that are made available to our coaches and players for personal development. The Sessions are needed for the development of players and are paramount, to the success of running our rugby club delivery.
As a club we do not wish to just plod along with what we have available, we want to strive to achieve more for our valued rugby family and give them what they rightly deserve.
So to be able to offer this, we are starting a Community Crowd Funder Campaign. This will give us the opportunity to have the support of businesses & the wider community, to make it possible to make the purchase of the portable training pitch lights. As a club we do not wish to just plod along with what we have available, we want to strive to achieve more for our valued rugby family and give them what they rightly deserve.

Our vision
To enable and support all players to engage in outdoor training, in the winter months and to allow outside training to take place at times to suit our volunteer coaching teams.
With indoor training areas, at a premium high. We are looking to Purchase Portable Training Lights, to enable all ages of the club from U6's to Seniors to get back to some continuity.
We Are Doing The Best With Whats Available
Indoor Training availability at our local school has been reduced, this is due to a new school being developed and that has put pressure on a lot of our age groups. It has also pushed these age groups, to reduce their training schedules due to the lack of lighting at our home grounds.
Our Vision is only going to be possible, if we can get the help an support from our wider community and businesses who wish to Pledge.
Our recognition to those who pledge to our campaign, you will find all details on our rewards section.
Benefits of outdoor Training!
Some of the cars help light up the pitch!
Take a moment and think of this question
If your child does or were to be a player for our Rugby Family, would you not wish for them to have the opportunities that we are trying to offer?
Please all we ask is for a pledge of support, to help us hit our Target and achieve our Vision. We aim to make it possible for the players of all ages within Fairwater RFC and the community. To benefit from the use of the, much needed External portable lighting.
What they feel are the benefits, of training outdoors.
"Indoor training put limits on the children and the coaches in taking part. The environment couldn't be anymore different. Grass Roots Rugby Needs Grass!"
"Playing Rugby outdoors is vital for children. Let’s face it…we live in Wales, so while we may have three days of sunshine a year, the rest of the time it’s cold and wet. Less than ideal conditions!!"
"This encourages resilience, which is a transferable life skill they will use in all aspects of life as they grow into adults. There’s nothing more character building than being face down in mud in the pouring rain!!"
"It gives a better feel for the game to train this way in preparation, as outside conditions play a massive part when you play matches. Its a real shame with the lack of facilities, that we have in our local community to help us in this way."
