I’m Beccy Dickson, founder of Branded Bio. Our mission is clear: to make meaningful, lasting connections with nature accessible to everyone, especially in the most urban and overlooked parts of our cities. We believe every community deserves vibrant, healthy green spaces, spaces that improve wellbeing, air quality and community spirit, without leaving a heavy environmental footprint.

Every component is designed and manufactured in the UK from certified circular materials, with full traceability and product end-of-life circularity. The kit is accessible, affordable and easy to assemble, requiring no specialist skills, making it suitable for homes, all ages at school and community groups across the country.

Social Impact: The City Roots Collective CIC

To make sure this movement reaches the communities that need it most, we are launching The City Roots Collective CIC. This new social enterprise arm is dedicated to bringing our living walls and all the wonder, wellbeing and opportunity they provide - directly into schools, community spaces and city neighbourhoods where nature is often out of reach.

Through City Roots Collective, we will:

• Install living walls in schools and communities where green space is lacking
• Deliver hands-on workshops so children can grow, taste and learn from their own edible walls
• Partner with local authorities, charities and businesses to maximise reach and impact
• Ensure every penny is used transparently for social and environmental good

The Funding: How Your Support Will Make a Difference

We are seeking £60,000 to transform our working prototype into a market-ready product that sets a new benchmark for sustainability and accessibility in the UK.

£20,000:

• Design refinement: £6,000 (prototyping, user feedback, safety compliance)
• Sustainable irrigation: £4,500 (development, testing, integration)
• Accessibility and inclusivity: £3,000 (multi-format guides, design adaptation, translation)
• User testing and pilots: £3,000 (community and school pilots, data gathering)
• Launch marketing and communications: £3,500 (press materials, digital campaign, community engagement)

£40,000:

• Sourcing, moulding and building the kit’s cradle-to-cradle polymer components, cost estimated by and delivered with the support of 540 WORLD. This covers material health assessment, tooling, manufacturing and third-party certification.

🌿 Enable the collaboration with 540World and their expert teams to advise and create the world’s first C2C-certified living wall, with every ingredient pure, healthy and transparent.  

🌿 Pay for the first production run, making these affordable living walls available to everyone not just for hire, but for purchase and long-term enjoyment.  

🌿 As we grow, help us install living walls in the communities and schools that need them most so more children can experience the magic of growing food for the first time.  

🌿 Through City Roots Collective, we will fund installations, workshops and green learning opportunities for those who need them most.
