L’esterre and Hillsborough Schools Fundraiser

Carriacou is a small island, off mainland Grenada with a population off around 10000. Hillsborough Government School and L'Esterre Rosary School educates children between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. Although education is free, families must provide uniforms, stationary .etc. as well as pay for lunch and travel.

The pressure has increased under the current climate and although no registered cases of Covid-19, the island went into lockdown resulting in loss of income for many families. The island does not have a financial support/benefits system and families are solely reliant on an income to make ends meet.

Although the schools hold fundraising events for the purpose of purchasing vital equipment as well as supporting families of pupils, based on the demand placed upon the school, insufficient funds are accumulated and many families do not receive the adequate support needed to ensure their children receive a good education, where they are able to enjoy and achieve.

Your donation will be a valuable contribution towards helping those families in need. It will also ease the pressure on Teachers who sometimes purchase food and other items needed to help those needing greatest assistance.
