About Us

Undone Theatre and Carmen Collective are dynamic, passionate, and innovative theatre companies committed to creating powerful and thought-provoking performances. Our latest collaboration, "Lessons on Revolution," is a testament to our shared mission of pushing boundaries and inspiring change through theatre. Both Undone and Carmen work on a project-to-project basis without core funding. Nevertheless, as organisations we are committed to doing things right, paying ourselves and others fairly and providing professional opportunities for those who face barriers to career advancement.

About The Show

1968. Three thousand students occupy the London School of Economics, in the most significant act of protest in a generation. 2024. Two friends and flatmates try to work out what radical change means today, searching through archives, photos, and first-hand accounts. Following a sold-out Soho Theatre run, Lessons on Revolution comes to Summerhall. This five-star, 'compelling and galvanising' (James Graham) piece of documentary theatre takes you on a journey through global and personal history which asks: in a new age of inequality and injustice, how can the voices of the past give us hope?

Why Edinburgh Fringe?

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the world's largest arts festival, attracting performers and audiences from across the globe. It is the perfect platform for "Lessons on Revolution" to reach a diverse and international audience, sparking conversations and inspiring action on a global scale. This opportunity will not only elevate our production but also shine a spotlight on the critical issues we address.

Funding

We have been lucky enough to secure substantial funding from several trusts and foundations. But we still need your help! By contributing to our project, you’ll help us raise £3000, which will pay for all 3 core team members' accommodation for the festival. A donation of £250 covers one week of accommodation in Edinburgh for one of us. This crucial funding will provide us with the financial stability to realise our goals in a sustainable and fair way.

Here's how your contribution will make a difference:

Covering Essential Expenses: Your support will cover our living costs in Edinburgh, allowing us to focus entirely on our performance and engagement with the festival community.

Unlocking Creative Potential: With our personal expenses taken care of, we can allocate more of our budget to elevate our production quality. This means more ambitious set designs, enhanced marketing efforts, and top-notch technical support.

Achieving Excellence: Financial stability enables us to push creative boundaries and deliver a performance that stands out, making a lasting impression on audiences and industry professionals alike.

All donors will be publicly thanked on our website and social media
