Legal fees to secure new premises

Aim: We are looking to move into our own premises, which we have already identified. But we need a solicitor to check our lease, but it’s £1000!

AARC was established in October 2022 and is run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers. We support all the New Scots who are in the NE of Scotland awaiting a decision on their asylum claim.
We have outgrown our current premises and need to move. We’ve found the ideal place, which is city centre and would enable us to set up drop in sessions and have adequat space to sort and store the huge amount of clothing donations we need. Our stumbling block is the legal fees, as we have no funding for this!
During 2023, we supported over 1000 individual, which shows the demand for our our organisation.Before we established, we had gentlemen living in Aberdeen for 6 months over the winter with no shoes or jackets. On only £8.86 per week, they need practical support including with basics such as clothing and footwear. Many of these individuals arrive with only the clothes they are wearing! 

This project successfully funded on 10th August 2024
