About Us:
The League of Friends of the Tamworth Hospitals was first formed in 1950. After achieving their objectives, the League of Friends remained as a voluntary group and continued to raise funds to provide extra equipment and support patients.
We are particularly proud of the £20,000 raised to refurbish the Consultation Room with Unisex Toilet, within the Colonoscopy/Endoscopy Suite at Sir Robert Peel Hospital. This enabled them to receive JAG Accreditation, and increase the amount of patients able to use the facility. Every year approximately £1,500 is spent on toiletries to assist Patients who arrive in Hospital without any personal effects.
Every patient who is in hospital over the Christmas period, is given a present, together with mince pies, cakes and chocolates. Christmas Presents for the Patients cost an average of £450.00 each year.
We are always looking for new members. We hold quarterly meetings, in the Wiggin Centre. Time: 12:00pm.
