Don’t let our after-school club close!
Who we are
Lawrence Weston and Shirehampton Out of School Club is a local, independent charity providing after-school and holiday care for children aged 4 to 12 in north Bristol. We have been running for 25 years and are now the only organisation to provide this much-needed service in the BS11 area.
Who we support
We provide out of school care for the children and families of four local schools and without this support, the working parents in our area would have no other options for childcare. We are so passionate about keeping our club open and helping these families, which is why we’re looking for additional funding.
Running at a loss
As a small, independent charity, we rely heavily on donations and grants so that we can continue to provide our services. However, due to the pandemic and reduced capacity, we are currently running at a loss of around £2,000 a month and will be forced to close within the year.
We need your help to keep us running and to help all the families in the BS11 area. This year is our 25th anniversary – please donate whatever you can to help!
What your money can buy
Your money will ensure that we can continue to employ staff to look after the children, as well as equipment for the clubs. For example:
- £26 pays for a playworker for one afterschool session
- £46 pays for a senior playleader for one afterschool session
- £79 pays for a playworker for one day of holiday play scheme
- £80 is the cost per month for Play materials (paint, glue etc)
- £92 pays for a senior playleader for one day of holiday play scheme
- £300 pays for a day trip for a holiday play scheme
- £500 pays for insurance for 1 setting
Please donate whatever you can to help us continue to support the working families in our area. And please share the link below as far and wide as you can. We really appreciate your support.
