I believe that some addictions and mental health issues as well as all homelessness can be cured by growing. There is an immense sense of satisfaction and therapeutic purpose in planting a seed, nurturing it, watching it grow and harvesting it for yourself and your community. 

I want to create completely self sustaining Kabutz-style communities for homeless people and later, addicts. The proof of concept, that this project will fund, will start with a small farm. The focus of every aspect will be environmentally friendly food and energy farming.

The basis of the project is modular 40 foot containers, hundreds of them. Some will be insulated with geo-thermal heat generators to be sunken below ground. Burying them means that they won't need heating. Covering them with geothermal receptors will help power the project above ground. Above ground, the containers will be "insulated" with solar panels. The insulation will reduce the need for heating whilst creating more energy for the community.

These solar insulated, stackable, modular and scalable containers will be used for "sky farming". Skyfarming is hydroponic fruit and veg farming in stackable containers. This optimises land use exponentially.

Homeless people who join us can work as much or as little as they want to or able to. Once the community is completely self-sufficient, we will look to create micro-businesses for them. Farm stalls etc. It's a profit based methodology from there. We want to educate and support our community to enable them to re-enter society with a little money, new skills, with motivation and most importantly, with hope.

The project itself is a for profit business but all profits will be used to fund the expansion of these homelessness eradication franchises.
