Aim: The Foundation Members scheme invites people to donate a minimum of £50.00 to the fund towards the new Larkins Pavilion.

Brentwood Youth AFC, incorporating Brentwood Girls AFC, is an FA England 2 star Accredited Youth Football Club. Formed in 2016 when two like-minded clubs- Kelvedon Hatch and Brentwood Athletic- merged, it is very much a local Community club and has steadily grown to over 600 boys and girls in 2025.
The Club has faced several ongoing challenges:

  • The lack of a proper ‘home’ as the current playing and training facilities are spread all over the local area.
  • The lack of changing rooms and toilet facilities at Larkins Playing Field.
Girl’s football requires facilities so our girls can’t currently play on our home ground at Larkins.
  • Limit to potential men’s and women’s football due to lack of changing rooms for players and officials.
  • Difficult to establish a Club and Community identity.
  • Expensive facility hire costs.

Therefore, in 2017, the Club met Brentwood Borough Council to propose the development of Larkins Playing Fields, both improving the quality of the playing surface and the construction of a football Pavilion on the site. As a result of this meeting The Larkins Partnership was formed with members of Brentwood Council, local Councillors and Brentwood Youth AFC to deliver this vision for the Club and local Community. This development at Larkins Playing Fields also forms part of the Brentwood Councils strategy for Recreational Facilities. Throughout the process we have had the full support of the Essex FA and the Football Foundation, their input has helped shape the design and layout of the Pavilion, specifically the changing rooms for players and officials which comply with FA requirements and standards. This has also resulted in an ‘in principle’ agreement for the Football Foundation to fund up to £250,000 of the build cost. In the meantime, post Covid, our needs have increased as the Clubs 5-year plan to increase the number of girls teams has already been exceeded by double- currently standing at 10 teams and over 100 girls registered in 2024/5.

Planning is in with Brentwood Borough Council and we are hoping for approval in be granted in July 2025 and work to start late summer 2025.
We are now fundraising to make our Project a reality with the intention to start work in summer 2025 and deliver a lasting benefit to local grassroots football  and the Community.

The Foundation Member scheme is aiming to raise at least £25,000 towards the Pavilion with minimum donations of £50.00 and donors names to be displayed on a board in the Pavilion when built.
