Langland Legends

The Langland Silver surfers hatched an idea after what everybody agrees is one of the Langland Legends, caught the big wave out of here a year ago, Johnny Hutton a Brummie who adopted us or we adopted him, nobody’s really sure, but he slotted in to life at Langland enjoying the craic, a beer, the people and life in general.

It was suggested a memorial of some description for JH,  but there are so many huge names at Langland it seemed unfair to single one out and we are certain that’s not what he would have wanted, so we sat down and chatted about what we could do and managed to get a plot for a bench overlooking a great surfing location at Crab Island and views all over the bay, then sought a sculptor who could design and sculpture our rough ideas, the conclusion was a conglomeration of many ideas with a sign showing the names and d.o.b. of recipients or Langland Legends on discs, who do not necessarily have to be surfers as the bay is for everybody, which we all enjoy in different ways, after all we are just caretakers of the bay for a few short years.

The bench will celebrate all who love Langland from Surfers, to tennis players, to lifeguards to road sweepers and to those who just love the bay, we hope to raise £5.000 to cover the costs and ask for your support.
