We're still collecting donations
On the 4th January 2025 we'd raised £2,245 with 25 supporters in 83 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
To buy our own brand new boat and take three crews to Henley in 2025 to compete nationally and put Lambton Rowing Club firmly on the map

Hi, we're Lambton Rowing Club, based on the beautiful Lambton Estate in County Durham.
We set the club up two years ago so everyone can come down, enjoy themselves, have a good time and enjoy being on the water.
All of our boats are either loaned, borrowed or donated. The purpose of this Crowdfunder is to enable us to buy our first brand new boat.
Our ambition next year is to send some crews down to Henley, compete nationally and put Lambton Rowing Club firmly on the map.
Please get behind us and support our campaign.
Background to who we are
Lambton Rowing Club was formed in February 2022 and has gone on to achieve success in many regional and national events. The club has grown considerably and now has well over 100 junior and adult members.
Our aim is to provide a fun, friendly and learning environment for all our members and we keep membership fees low and affordable and welcome people of all ages and abilities.
Our head coach, Steve Thompson constantly gives back to the local community and after 25 years of coaching, he has coached hundreds of young athletes and adults to achieve their goals.
One of his proudest moments was watching Peterlee-local girl Lauren Irwin win a bronze medal for Great Britain as part of the women’s eight team at the Olympics in Paris this year. Steve coached Lauren from very early on in her career.
Lauren said: “Steve Thompson was one of my first rowing coaches. He was instrumental in developing me as a junior international athlete through dedicating countless hours in his spare time. Steve is a very passionate coach and would do anything to help athletes achieve their sporting dreams.”
Henley 2025
When the club started, our experienced coaches had to to lean on their long-established rowing contacts across the country to campaign for boats and blades.
All of our boats and blades are either loaned, borrowed or donated. The purpose of this Crowdfunder is to enable us to buy our first brand new quad boat.
Our ambition next year (2025) is to send some crews down to Henley, to compete nationally and put Lambton Rowing Club firmly on the map.
We want to send:
As well as giving our members the best experience, no club in the region has done this before.
Inspiring a younger generation
We hope this project will inspire our younger rowers to show them what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. We hope they will look at what the older juniors and adults are doing and will want to do the same.
We run free learn-to-row sessions for adults and children, which encourage more people to learn a new sport and get active. As we attract new members, we need more equipment allowing them to row in the early stages with ease.
Please support our campaign
We hope that you will support our campaign and help us to achieve our ambition. Our athletes are already training hard and are dedicated and committed to making their dreams come true. Our ask to you:
