Raising funds to ensure we do right by the village and this beautiful green space which is a haven for wildlife.

by Lambley Reed Pond in Lambley, England, United Kingdom

  • Lambley Reed Pond is a site of around 4 acres in the centre of Lambley, a beautiful village in Nottinghamshire. It had been donated to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust by generous residents in the village in the 1980s however without warning NWT announced plans to auction the site to the highest bidder. This was prevented by intervention by Lambley Parish Council who recently purchased the land to ensure it could be enjoyed by the community for future generations.

The site has,  for many years been neglected, and we would dearly love to bring it back to the beautiful and tranquil space it once was.   It has an abundance of wildlife including Egrets, Owls badgers and a host of other species in and around the water.

What will the funds be used for?

Funds are desperately needed for signage, gates, to improve access, crowning of trees and general upkeep.

The Parish Council were unable to obtain grant funding due to time pressures involved with preventing the auction and funds are now depleted so any donation you can give will be hugely appreciated no matter how large or small.
