(Advancement of education, health and Arts, the relief of poverty and Promoting Sustainable Environmental Practices in our community).
Project Description
We will support wellbeing and essentials for living: food, energy and safety; access to support through advocacy, advice and referral, so they don't struggle alone, helping them to recover and thrive once again. We help people take back control of their lives, their wellbeing, their finances and their safety. Alongside meeting basic practical needs, we will signpost clients to other support organisations who can advise them on a range of different issues from debt to benefits, to employability support, to help them to resolve a crisis, and through employment lift themselves from poverty and take back control of their lives
We would advise them on a range of different issues from debt, to benefits, to employability support, mental health to help them to resolve a crisis, and through employment lift themselves from poverty. This will enable them to address the issues causing financial or related difficulties and reduce the likelihood that they will find themselves in financial crisis again in the future.
The Outcomes
We also want to build financial resilience in the local community by running some finance and budgeting courses for our clients so that they can better understand their finances and manage their income to be able to cope with future financial shocks and challenges. • Improved economic wellbeing. • Reduced food poverty • Increased financial literacy. • Reduced social isolation.
The money will raise it will help us pay for Food bank provision, energy voucher, Venue, Chef and nutritionist, Financials adviser, Voluntary expenses, Administrations Costs, Publicity Design, printing, Leaflet distribution
The Need of the project
Currently, in the UK we are facing the biggest cost of living crisis for decades through 2022 and with rising food, fuel and energy prices, we are already seeing that there will be no let-up in the number of citizens needing our support in the short-term. Inflation has now hit 8% (March 2022) yet benefits are rising by only 3.1%, which means those on the lowest incomes have to make their limited money stretch much further. The number of people coming to us for support has risen exponentially in recent years and is still increasing.
