Unfortunately this project was not successful.

To reduce loneliness and improve the older people's well-being. For the children, this will support their communication and language skills.

I work closely with the charity Ready Generations who run the Nursery in Belong Care Home, Chester. I have been leading their intergenerational music sessions for two years now and we have seen a huge impact on the older people's well-being as they engage in shared music sessions. The children have developed excellent communication skills because of their time singing and interacting with their older friends. I have worked with a number of universities to analyse best practise and am always reflecting on my work to get the best results for everyone involved from 3-103 years!

Following the success of this model, I have recently lead 3 sessions over the last 3 months in Lache community, Chester and started to see some wonderful things happen with the older people and children of Lache Primary.  I would like to continue this work into 2025. I have been lucky enough to secure some funding from Sanctuary and now just need to match this funding to receive their offer.

I want to run THREE more sessions for the local people over the next three months. (One a Month)

The money will be spent on:

- equipment needed to run the sessions

- hire of the community centre

- a creative lead to lead the sessions

Over £200 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
