La Ciclista opened its doors 4 years ago and has survived to become a 'go to' venue for cyclists, rowers, dog walkers, local businesses, fitness fanatics and more in the East Sheen and surrounding Richmond Park area. This despite having to deal with COVID lockdowns as well as ever increasing utility, business rates, rent and material costs.
We have also employed over 45 staff members during this time, mainly 16-23 year-old school, gap year and university students and recent graduates from the area. In so doing we have provided them work experience, knowledge and insight about running a small business, and valuable skills to include in their personal statements or CVs as they journey through life, as well as an income to support their plans going forward.
But we want to do more than just survive, we want La Ciclista to thrive. Yet to do so we need your help to support the next important phase of our journey. A new site in a prime location in Hampton Wick will allow us to expand and build on the start we have made.
We will continue to serve delicious coffee, cake, food and lots more, with passion, smiles and a great team who work hard to ensure every visit exceeds expectations. Our new location will still have our communal sharing tables and secure indoor bike parking facilities. We will also have a larger outdoor seating area.
Help us to open our new premises just over Kingston Bridge, in Hampton Wick, site of the former Old King's Head pub. It has been empty for over 6 years and we want to bring it back to life with a purpose. However, the designated ground floor commercial unit needs a lot of TLC to get it to our high standards so it can reopen and serve the community.
Please can you help us and contribute something towards this? In return we offer some great rewards, depending on the size of donations.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hampton Wick!
Love, The LC Team x
