Krunch South West was founded in 2013 and has been supporting young people in Thornbury and surrounding areas ever since.
In 2019, with the help and generous donations of local companies and of the community, Krunch South West was able to open a new local youth venue, now known as The Pod. Created out of repurposed shipping containers, this space has become a vital hub for youth work in the community. The Pod is the site for weekly youth clubs, a centre for community activities such as the annual Skate Fest, and a safe space for mentoring.
As well as being a youth venue, The Pod is also the office space for the members of staff who work incredibly hard to ensure the young people have access to the support they need.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of February, the shutters fitted to the outside of The Pod failed. These shutters are what ensures The Pod is a secure, safe and useable space. Krunch South West had to pay £2000 for the repairs in order to continue to use The Pod and keep making a difference to the lives of young people. For a small organisation this is a huge outlay that would have otherwise gone a long way to fund youth clubs, activities, mentoring, and to support as many young people as needed.
We are hoping to raise some funds to help recuperate this unexpected expense so we can continue our mission of helping young people discover who they are, what they want to be, and how to get there.
