Help us get Green Candidate, Debojyoti Das on the ballot paper in Kingston and Surbiton in 2024!

by Kingston Green Party in Surbiton, Greater London, United Kingdom

The General Election is finally upon us!  In just a few weeks  from now we will all go to the polls to elect our next government. We are standing a Green candidate and need your help to raise funds to be on the ballot paper. We need to pay a deposit of £500 to stand a candidate in Kingston and Surbiton constituency.

Kingston and Surbiton is considered a safe Liberal Democrat seat, with the Tories previously in second place and Labour a distant third.  With the Tory vote crumbling, polling suggests that the Liberal Democrats will win here again.

This means that there is no need to vote tactically here, but instead voters have an opportunity to vote positively for what they believe.

We want every voter in the borough to have the opportunity to vote Green.  In so doing we send a clear message to whoever wins the election that they need to be bolder in their ambitions for the NHS and social care, for delivering affordable housing, for sorting out the dreadful state of rivers, improving the standard of living especially for those in most need and bold action on the climate and nature.

And every vote cast nationally for the Green Party contributes to government allocated funds (known as Short Money) that all opposition parties receive to help with costs associated with parliamentary business. The more votes nationally, the bigger the fund our MP(s) will receive.

Please donate what you can.  Remember, The Green Party doesn't have rich backers; we raise all the money we spend ourselves, so your donation will make a real difference to our campaign. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us towards our target.  And if we retain our deposit, these funds will go towards getting Greens elected to the council in 2026.

P.S. Because we're a political party....

We're required to run electoral register checks from people making donations above £500, and if you donate over £1,500 during a year, we are required to let the Electoral Commission know, who will make this available on their website. All donations go to general Green Party funds.
