Kings Heath Cricket and Sports Club is a multi-sport club based in the heart of Kings Heath, Birmingham. We have provided local sporting facilities for over 150 years, offering a range of sports including cricket, tennis, bowls, football, squash, snooker, hockey and table tennis. The benefits of participating in sport and physical activity are widely recognised and we provide a safe space for young people, adults and families from our community to be active.
Covid-19 has created an uncertain future for grass roots sports clubs, who are finding it very challenging to survive. It is no exaggeration to say it would be a disaster if these facilities were lost to the whole community. Our bar, restaurant and events normally provide the income to cover our costs and ensure we can continue to maintain our sports programme. With the current lockdown and impending tier 3 restrictions we have no means of making any income during the Christmas period but our bills and outgoings remain.
Our club is more than just about sport - we provide a space for families and friends to not only be active but also to socalise, connect and feel part of a community. We are fundraising now to ensure that we can survive and continue to provide this for years to come.
2020 has been tough for us all but we would be so thankful for any donation you can spare during this difficult time.

About us
Our facilities and playing areas are based in the heart of Kings Heath with a wide programme of activities for all ages and abilities. We boast some of the best facilities in South Birmingham with recently refurbished cricket nets, adding to our already fantastic Tennis and Squash courts, Cricket square, Bowls rink, Football pitches and space for Table Tennis/fitness activities.
We work closely with schools and community partners to deliver festivals and events to encourage local people to be active including visually impaired and disabled participants. Despite the challenges 2020 has presented we have continued to raise money for good causes, fundraising for Birmingham Children's Hospital and Macmillan Cancer support.
With the range of activities on offer we are able cater for members from 4 years of age to 96, as well as providing a fantastic social facility for friends and families to come and spend time together.
It will come as no surprise that events such as our hugely popular Bonfire and Fireworks display, concerts/gigs, quizzes and many other fundraising activities have been cancelled. When you add this to the loss of our restaurant / bar income, private function and external bookings it should come as no surprise that our community sports club is facing a very uncertain future.
We are therefore reaching out to our local community to ask for your support to help us come through these very trying times to ensure this much needed community asset can survive and continue to provide for the people of the Kings Heath area and beyond.
