Every year, The Parasol Project takes a group of disabled and non-disabled young people on an unforgettable trip to Kilvrough, and we need your help to make it happen! This trip is a highlight of the year, providing our participants with an incredible opportunity to enhance their mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

What we do: During the trip, our young people engage in a variety of activities designed to promote growth and learning. These include outdoor adventures like hiking, scrambling and bodyboarding, team-building exercises, and practical life skills such as cooking and organising evening entertainment. Each day is filled with opportunities for participants to challenge themselves, work together, and have fun in a supportive environment.

Why it matters: This trip is more than just a getaway; it’s a chance for our young people to build confidence, learn new skills, and create lasting memories. The benefits include but aren’t limited to:

• Mental Health: Being in nature and trying new activities boosts self-esteem and reduces stress.
• Physical Health: Engaging in outdoor adventures promotes fitness and healthy living.
• Emotional Health: Forming friendships and overcoming challenges together strengthens emotional resilience.
• Skill Development: From social interaction to practical life skills, our participants gain invaluable experiences.

Why we need your help: It will come as no surprise to you that the costs associated with this annual trip have rocketed this year, from the transport to the accommodation (not to mention the snacks!), and we’re going to struggle to cover these extra costs. We are committed to making this trip accessible to all, regardless of financial background, but this does mean our income is limited. Your generous donations will help cover the costs, ensuring no one is left out due to their financial position.
