Kilmarnock Concert Brass are a 2nd Section brass band. We were founded 52 years ago by conductor, educator and musician, Andrew Keachie. Our current Musical Director, Scott Walker has provided musical leadership in recent years as we have successfully progressed from 4th to 3rd and then into the 2nd section of the Scottish Brass Band Association league tables. We rehearse in The Well, in Bellfield, Kilmarnock. Our players range from school age to 'mature' adults and we are proud to say that we are a closely-knit group who have a strong sense of community, our 'wee band family'! We support each other musically and in our personal lives, and are proud of our team spirit. We compete at local and national level and perform at concerts and gigs throughout the year for our local community in Kilmarnock and Ayrshire.
We are a Scottish Registered Charity and are self-funded, relying on fundraising ventures such as concerts, supermarket gigs and local events throughout the year. By supporting our Crowdfunder projects, we can continue to provide a warm supportive environment for players to develop and hone musical skills, and allow us to encourage younger players to join the band. Any support you can provide would help us immensely!
