Killamarsh Dreams is an amateur dramatics group based in the Derbyshire village of Killamarsh. Our weekly workshops are for young people aged between 5 and 16 looking to gain confidence through drama, music and dancing.
We strive to be fully inclusive and welcome all children, no matter their ability, to come along and learn in a fun and interactive way. Our group runs weekly during term time (Derbyshire) on a Thursday 6pm until 8pm at St Giles Church Hall in Killamarsh. We encourage young people to be creative and take part in different activities.
We are proud to be a validated Children's University Learning Destination!
Children can collect CU credits at our activities with their passport for learning as well as gain credits towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Our aim is to give the children the invaluable experience of performing on a real stage. In 2025 we will be performing Annie Jr at the University of Sheffield Drama Studio and we are striving to raise the necessary £7,000.00 to enable us to put on this production, maintaining reasonable ticket prices and continue our work with the youngsters next year.
Our group has put on a number of productions in the last few years, including The Wizard of Oz, Bugsy Malone, High School Musical Jr, The Jungle Book, Matilda Jr and many more. We've performed in some incredible local venues including The Montgomery in Sheffield City Centre, Gulliver's Valley Theme Park Resort, University of Sheffield Drama Studio and The Pomegranate in Chesterfield.
CHRISTMAS DANCEATHON 2024
Our first fundraiser to help us raise the funds for our production of Annie Jr in July 2025 is a Christmas Danceathon on Thursday 5th December 2024. The group will be dancing non-stop to Christmas tunes for 1 hour.
