We're still collecting donations
On the 1st January 2023 we'd raised £591 with 13 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Changing the lives of today's YOUTH - Protect the Body, Mind & Soul!
by Andrei Tsikheyenka in Peterborough, United Kingdom
On the 1st January 2023 we'd raised £591 with 13 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are a family based team, helping under privileged Children & Young Adults in a Mixed Martial Arts Gym. We specifically coach in Martial Arts 1/e.g jujitsu/ Martial 2/Martial 3).
In today's world there are many barriers in helping Children & Young Men grow up to be the people/persons they want want to become. The impact of Social Media, gaming and even COVID has dramatically changed the way we look at our own and other lives. Since 2004, (the launch of the first BIG social media platform "Myspace", yes, almost 20 years ago!) we have seen the internet grow at an exponential rate. The youth of today, especially underprivileged where our focus lies, are spending more and more time online, seeing the trends of the world, and, as social media is now SO accessible this allows 1000's of connections. This sounds like the ideal way of socialising & connecting, however this is false on so many fronts. With the 1000's of connections we have access to, we tend to only ever share the "Best" moments, and with that many connections we are bound to see at least a few of these each week! This can have a negative effect on mental health, confidence and they regularly feel like there are never enough "likes" when something is posted!
Our vision and aim is to challenges the youths of today and get them in to our gym! It is proven the exercise helps stimulate the brain, it's a great way to learn new skills whilst driving confidence to help thrive in today's world. Not only will we do all of the above, it will be done in groups, helping with real life connections and getting them into the "real" social environment!
All the money that we raise will be put into this project, to help take Children & Young off the streets, challenging their mindsets to be the best they can!
As already mentioned above, this about helping and setting Children & Young a positive path rather than to succumbing to a potential life of crime or even the thought process that it follows.
As a sport, Judo & MMA offers young people the opportunity to:
Develop life skills
Build friendships with other members
Improve their mental health and take steps to counter
Improve their physical health
Develop self confidence
Increase their self-esteem
Develop employability skills
Avoid criminal and/or anti-social behaviour
Support social skills development
We believe that this is has such an integral part in our community, what ever we can put into this will only ever benefit those involved. Changing the lives of many will more than pay back the dividends. That being said to keep this team running for the long term we need sufficient investment to help make this happen.
All of the money raised will go into the Gym and for the members of the gym that do not have access to pay because of live events. Also for the costs of local or international competitions. Our classes will be FREE for Youth. Money will be spend for Pay for Facility and coaching .
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Create a fundraiser of your own. Use the button on our page to get started. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
