We are a small children’s charity based in the Benarty Centre, Flockhouse Avenue, Ballingy in Fife, KY5 8JH.
The area we are in is a special need area which lacks amenities and needs for the local children. We provide a much needed service to the local community, parents, families and children in which we have over 40 Children’s Care Plans on our books.
During school times we provide a Breakfast Club for local children Monday to Friday from 7.00am till 9am and we also take the children to their respective schools. During this time we provide all children with a nourishing breakfast and provide much needed care on a basis that is designed for each individual child’s need’s
We also do an After School Club Monday to Friday from 3pm to 6pm which includes in some cases collecting the children from their respective schools back to the Centre. While at the Kids Club we provide a nourishing meal and/or snack with drinks. During their time with us they are allowed to express themselves, join in on play, art & crafts, educated in good manners and behaviour and much more, but the most important aspects for all our children is FUN and being cared for and respected.
During the school holidays our services are extended Monday to Friday 7am till 6pm and we provide a half day or full day and when funds allow us we take the children to venues for fun that otherwise they just wouldn’t have the chance to enjoy.
Many families in this area are unemployed, single mums, struggling financially and in need of having somewhere safe for their children to go.
We have 4 members of staff as per current Government requirements. Our staff are dedicated, caring, responsible and provide nurturing and growth in a positive structure but always incorporated with fun and laughter. We had to depend on our staff having much reduced salaries for a period and our 4 staff also provided out of their own pockets so the children would at least have something to eat/drink.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and not having the opportunity to gain funds, grants or donations for the past 2 years we are currently struggling to stay afloat and we are reaching out to local companies to please ask for any donation that you can possibly give to us to maintain this vital service to local children who really need this support.
We are also in need of equipment such as bikes, toys, kids books, paper, colouring pens etc for primary school age, the majority of our children who attend here don’t have the privilege of owning their own bike or having many toys to play with or kids books to read I would be great fun for them to have access to a bike here at the Kids Club, even anything second hand would be great.
If you wish to visit us you are very welcome to do so.
Anything at all that you can kindly donate would be great, and we understand if you cant help at this time.
Looking forward to hearing from you........
