To bring yoga teachers to the Mount Kenya Region, Kerugoya, Kenya - to deliver classes in schools and the villages.

by Krissi Cook in Warrington, England, United Kingdom

With a profound passion to serve disadvantaged children and communities, I've reached the Mount Kenya Region, Kerugoya, Kenya. Its here where myself and my colleague, John have started to connect with the local schools - from the ages of 3-12 years as well as the boarding schools delivering yoga classes.

The benefits of these classes will not only help children and young students to remain strong and healthy in the body but these classes are quipting students with the foundations of their inner tools to help them co-regulate their emotions, balancing their nervous system, aids with reducing stress, fatigue as well as overall enhanced concentration levels, productivity and creative expression.

Over the past week I've taught around 6 classes with the group sizes being close to 100 each.

Its my mission to continue this work as I continue my travels onwards - but we need your help. Without you, classes cannot run. There simply isn't enough teachers and there isn't enough interest in people wanting to do this voluntary.

At the moment, with the coming weeks I'll be teaching upto 4 classes a day, without any financial funding and despite my social media reach I've only had 2 people express interest in wanting to donate their time for free.

It's my aim and vision to create and generate enough funds to be able to pay for teachers accomodation at the least, for now.

With events being added to the calender such as in person workshops and online classes with all donations going toward the project - hopefully we can not only afford to bring you out here to teach but also help towards more yoga materials and education.

Any support is greatly appreciated.

With love,

Krissi and John
