We are looking to build a garage and veteran support hub.

by Twiggy & Legless in Headcorn, England, United Kingdom

We're still collecting donations

On the 6th June 2021 we'd raised £3,655 with 30 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Adam who became a double amputee after being blown up in Afghanistan by a IED and Twiggy who has been diagnosed with severe PTSD due to numerous conflicts have a dream to build a garage in Kent and support other veterans in their time of need.

Fortunately we have both been able to overcome our demons - and we believe with the right help and support others can too. However it can take time for someone to get the help and support they need. These Veterans don't have this time, most who cry out for help are generally at the last point.

In 2020 ALONE - 82 veterans took their life.

This year we have reached a really critical point already - 15 veterans in 15 weeks have taken their own life - that's 1 a week.

We know that many big named military charities are closing their doors and a lot of the smaller non government supported charities are struggling to find time and space to treat those in need.

This is why we need your help - we are looking for funding to build a reactive, walk in centre that can offer immediate support unlike any other place in the UK.

It is our dream to be able to catch those falling and give then the contacts, tools and support they need to rebuild their life and not to give up.

The Hub will included charities who specialise in Mental, Financial, Physical and Housing needs. Our garage will be offering free training in mechanics, electrics, body work, upholstery, computer skills, accounts and business management to give veterans the skills they need in order to find work.

The complete build and surround area will be designed with full access support in mind for all physical abilities.

We hope you understand our dream and want to support us to make it a reality, helping us now means we can help more veterans want a tomorrow.

All Donations are gratefully received
