We did it
On 15th December 2021 we successfully raised £2,865 ( + est. £645.00 Gift Aid ) with 61 supporters in 28 days

We aim to insulate the roof in our new hall to enable the band to stay warm during rehearsals and minimise heat loss helping save the planet

New stretch target

If we exceed our target and get close to our stretch goal we plan to look at replacing our very old oil fired boiler with one that is more environmentally friendly. The type of heating system we select as replacement will depend on the amount of funds raised.

Third Carrickfergus Band are a thriving and fun loving community brass band based in Carrickfergus, N. Ireland. Formed back in the late 1950's we have never had our own permanent home to rehearse in, build our organisation and really develop our community ethos until now!

We were very fortunate in July 2021 to be able to purchase our new home at 70, Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus. It's a property with almost unlimited potential but has needed a lot of attention and investment. The priority was obviously to make the property safe and habitable so we could start rehearsals when possible post lockdown and this we have managed to achieve in a very short time frame thanks to the efforts of a small team of willing volunteers from within the band.

Obviously with a property of a certain vintage the heating system and insulation of the property need urgent attention to bring them up to current environmental standards and retain the heat within the hall ensuring we minimise heating fuel consumption . This is where we need your help! We hope to raise £2000 to insulate the roof space as the first and most important step in the overhaul of heating/insulation system.

Thankfully we are now back to normal rehearsals (albeit with some mitigations to keep the band COVID safe) and have completed a number of engagements and our annual contest over the last few months. We are now looking forward to getting out into the community and spreading the joy of Christmas with quite a few carolling engagements already in the diary.

All donations are welcome and will help us achieve or exceed our goal however if you live in the Carrickfergus area it will be worth your while to check out our rewards section as the band will come to your home and play a few carols live outside your house this Christmas! You can also become a regular donor to the band by setting up regular/recurring donations and then participate in our forthcoming Patron's Scheme to be launched next year.

Thanks in advance for your kind donation and interest in the Third Carrickfergus Band which will help us thrive and continue to transform the lives of young people in our community. On behalf of the band can we wish you a Very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year.
