About Us
Welcome to Oscaroos – a flip-flop brand with country and equestrian designs
- The story of Oscaroos begins with my horse, Oscar. A thoroughbred ex-racehorse, he’s been part of our family for two decades and has his own special character. One of the most distinctive things about Oscar is the unusual sound he makes when he walks – thoroughbreds are known for their flat feet - and rather than making the classic “Clip Clop” sound that everyone associates with horses, Oscar’s feet go “Flip Flop” instead! Not only that, but his flat feet make it difficult to keep shoes on him, and those two things together gave me the inspiration to launch Oscaroos.
It's our mission here at Oscaroos to create ethical, long-lasting, and comfortable footwear that’s as beautiful and unique as Oscar himself. Not only are we dedicated to providing you with gorgeous flip-flop designs that take their inspiration from the countryside that Oscar loves so much and that are built to last, but we’re also keen to do our bit to help horses around the world by donating to equine charitable causes.
That’s why, for every pair of flip flops that we sell, we donate a percentage of our profits to The Brooke – a charity that supports the welfare of hard-working equines in poor communities worldwide, helping to shoe horses in developing countries and working with villages in remote areas so that they can learn how to train and shoe their own animals. It’s a mission that’s close to my heart, and I know that Oscar approves too.
