We're still collecting donations
On the 25th September 2023 we'd raised £670 with 19 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Allow us to continue using a Pay-What-You-Can model for our Community Dance Classes in Oxford despite rising overhead costs!

On the 25th September 2023 we'd raised £670 with 19 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
£500 would cover the studio hire cost for 12 classes (50% of a whole term of classes!) An additional £500 would cover the entire studio hire costs for the whole term enabling us to invest any donations from the pay-what-you-can model into future classes - returning us to a sustainable and stable programme of community dance classes.
Thomas Page Dances is a contemporary dance company based in Oxford working across three main focuses: Creation and Performance, Professional Engagement and Exchange, and Youth and Community Education - the latter of which includes our contemporary dance classes for adults held at our associate venue: Arts at The Old Fire Station (OFS).
"I always regret not having learnt to dance growing up so discovering this open level class has given me an opportunity to take part in something I didn't think I would be able to do but I have been longing to do it. When I come to class, all the pressures of the week wash away and I am able to connect with my body in a profound way. It is always incredibly good exercise too and I get to start the weekend with a smile on my face." - Friday Class Dancer
Our Monday and Friday classes at OFS currently operate on a Pay-What-You-Can system which enables people to come to classes despite low income or other impacts on their financial circumstances. We have been running classes at OFS since 2018 and have truly found a home in their wonderful dance studio that provides an accessible space, essential facilities for dancing, and the perfect central location for people from all over Oxfordshire to get to!
"The impact has meant that I pay what I can but know should that change due to unforeseen illness that this vital element within my recovery is not challenged." - Friday Class Dancer
Like many, OFS have increased their studio hire costs in line with rising inflation and general cost of living crisis - which we completely understand and respect. However, as we have no set fee for our classes we are unable to increase our fees to match this increase and to introduce a set cost would go completely against our ethos for these classes.
Therefore, we asking our wonderful community of supporters to help us in keeping our classes open to all!
Donating to our Crowdfunder campaign will help us cover the overhead costs of classes and prevent further impact of the cost of living crisis on access to the arts.
