Having felt pretty helpless in the response to the Covid-19 pandemic over the past weeks I have decided to do the one thing I am able to do to help and that is to try and raise funds for NHS staff by running a silly distance. I was due to take part in the South Downs Way 100 mile event in June but this has obviously been postponed so I have chosen to still attempt the distance, non-stop, on Friday the 29th May. Having stopped training properly when lockdown hit, it is by no means a given that this is doable but I will try my best!!
I have decided to raise funds for two organisations that directly assist NHS staff. One is NHS Charities Together who offer all kinds of practical and emotional support to NHS staff dealing with Covid-19 patients.
