Our Story
Food has always been a huge part of our owner Lucy's life.
As far back as she can remember, her mum would show showing her how to make pizza dough and pasta from scratch. Coming from a large family meant she was always sat around a table eating good, homemade food laughing, no matter how busy or stressful the day had been.
As soon as Lucy started working, she inevitably ended up in hospitality industry creating those experiences for customers in restaurants and cafes across Glasgow.
Eventually, it made sense that she launched her own cafe followed by the launch of her own catering company to create her own unique food centred experience!
And that’s why The Electric Bee and Busy Bee Catering, at it's core, is all about... family, good food and laughter!

Our Ask
The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, which is going to make it very challenging for businesses to survive. Together we can get through this but we all need some help!
Personally as a business we have felt the strain and effect already this has had on us, as we closed down our cafe plus having to cancel all of our catering events meaning that your team of 8 were all no longer able to work.
We are very passionate about supporting our team and we want to do all that we can to ensure the team and their families can go through this time with strength and stability.
As a start up business still in our first year of trading, cash flow is always tight therefore this has been hard hitting, even with the wage supplement from the government as we still have rent and other bills to pay!
We have also felt the effect on many of our corporate clients and self employed people we work with who have been badly effected which we would love to help with!
For this reason we are looking to raise money with 50% of the funds raising going towards cash flow for Busy Bee Catering so that we can continue to grow, support our current team and create more jobs once we can relaunch.
The remaining 50% we would like to donate to self employed individuals who have been badly effected by COVID-19 but do not qualify for any of the government support.
Anything small or large which you can donate is very much appreciated and will truly help individuals and their families to survive this awful time!
