Can you help us to add more Play equipment to cater for more children?

This is what the local children had to say about our original proposals.

We want the best range of equipment as possible, so that our Play space is attractive for as broad an age range of children and young people as possible.  So building on our existing provision, and including our hugely popular Pump Track, free parking and cafe open weekend mornings to make a great place to come and play - a Destination Play space no less!

We're working to install the Rockmaster piece of equipment (illustrated above).  We've raised an amazing £90,400 and are very grateful for those funders - Augean Community Fund, FCC Communities Fund, National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All and Kings Cliffe Parish Council.  We've just got £5000 to cover the full cost.  And beyond that we really want to add some other items (sadly pictures don't really do justice to it all!).  Such as 'Big Wave Slide' slide, 'Saturn Wizzer' and 'Satellite Carousel'.

And it's for this that we asking for help for.

The local community made a huge contribution towards the fundraising for the Pump Track and going back funds the original Play equipment benefitted from some fantastic local fundraising.  So we're looking to repeat this if we can!

We would really value donations large or small.

And depending on how much we can raise we'll add additional pieces of equipment.  It might be other pieces to these illustrated depending on the amount we manage to raise, but we'll go for as much as we can, fundraising as hard as we can.  We'll keep you posted on our progress.  And if we only make a little bit we'll still spend it on improving the Play area eg seats, bins.

We asked local children again what they thought about the Rockmaster -

  • 7 year old: this would be the best thing to have at the active because it’s important for people that want to be ninjas when they’re older, they need somewhere to practice. I don’t want to be a ninja but I’d really like to play on it 😮‍💨
  • Just asked my 10 year old and it was a big, excited ‘yes’. He says that it looks amazing and will be good to have something new.
  • Just asked my 8 year old and it was a huge ‘yes’. She has already asked for new trainers to try it out and says it looks like the best park she will ever go to.
  • I won’t ask my 3 year old but he just wants to try whatever his older siblings do so take it as a YES!
  • My three year old says ‘that cool - me go there!

Please help if you can.  Thank you.
