It is really important to give Kursaal voters an Independent choice in the upcoming local council by-election for the ward on 4th July

by Kay Mitchell in Southend-on-Sea, United Kingdom

I am a mother, a grandmother, and I have lived in Southend for more than 30 years. I am a local activist with groups including Save Southend NHS, and although now retired, I have worked across local authorities and the voluntary sector providing social care services for many years.

I am a former city centre ward councillor with experience as a cabinet member for Adult Social Care and Health Integration.

As a councillor I was involved in projects to deliver pocket parks and large street art projects. I volunteer as chair of a community festival.

I stood as an Independent candidate for Kursaal in May's local elections when I met so many residents and heard about what is important to you, and how I could best represent you in the council chamber. I am now standing again as an Independent for July's by-election and look forward to continuing those conversations, working with you on priorities for you and the ward.

I am a Non - Aligned Independent and therefore have no party funds. Any donation towards my campaign would be gratefully received.
