"Karma Yoga embraces the principles of selfless service without attachment to the outcome of the actions and fulfilling them without selfish motives, infused with letting go of the desire of personal recognition and offering those actions to a higher purpose."
On Friday 4th October, a group of Wild Shakti Yoga Graduate Teachers will be climbing the Holy Mountain in Wales (Skirrid) to embrace our Tadasana. This Karma Yoga project is to honour the body of transformational work of Deborah Wild Curtis (aka Rising Eagle) as well as to bring awareness, and financial support, to the ‘We are Peace’ movement between Palestine and Israel. We are the closing group to be trained by Deborah Wild Curtis on her Wild Shakti Yoga Teacher Foundational Training.
Deborah has been teaching yoga for over 22 years and mentoring in her yoga trainings for the last 10 years. She feels fulfilled and proud in her yoga mission. With a legacy of awesome yoga teachers in the community; she is gearing up to spread her wings and embark on a new chapter of work and prayer - globally.
In our first week of training we had the privilege of special guest Wayne Snellgrove (aka Standing Bear); an indigenous author from Saulteaux Tribe Fishing Lake First Nation to join us for our opening circle each morning during our 7 day week intensive. He shared with us the native wisdom from his life stories, elders and ancestors. During this week, spirit brought Standing Bear and Aviv together on the land at the Shala where they sowed the seed for this new peace prayer. Aviv is from Israel and is holding a sacred prayer for peace between Israel and Palestine. The seeds are now growing!
Standing Bear and Aviv are creating the ‘We are Peace’ movement leading Sweat Lodges in Palestine and Israel to heal the wounds and reconnect the hearts and spirits of its people and its ancient land. Sweat Lodge is a ceremonial structure for ritual purification, healing and renewal and is considered a sacred and deeply spiritual practice.
It became apparent that our Karma Yoga Project will be both a celebration of Deborah’s body of work and sowing new seeds for the future with ‘We are Peace’.
Through your participation you will be asked to help raise awareness of this project, by sharing this event with your yoga tribe, and for financial donations. Any ideas for publicity, please get in touch directly with us. Our fundraising goal is £4000 to make it possible to offer Sweat Lodges both in Palestine and Israel.
Love and light,
Leigh, Stuart, Sonia, and Lucy with special guest star, Ruthie!
