We keep our wonderful books out of landfill and donate them where they are needed. Our Kenyan Libraries & Learning Centres are built from 40ft shipping containers, are operated by local, fully trained volunteers and host a whole plethora of developmental activities. We also donate books to a wide range of Kenyan organisations ranging from schools to universities, from remand homes to orphanages.

Each year we rescue over 70,000 books from ending up in a landfill. Each year we ship between 30 and 40,000 books to Kenya where books are extremely rare and expensive. Each year we build a community-run Library and Learning Centre in the heart of a remote, under-resourced and impoverished community. Also each year we donate over 20,000 books to over 30 institutions and organisations across Kenya.

Each Centre is run by a group of local, fully trained volunteers who run, manage, report on and otherwise engage in the management of our projects. The Centres work together and depend on each other for support, advice and help. Our Mentors work tirelessly with their own community and with other Centres.

Here are some numbers: Since the year 2015 we have built seven Centres, imported 216,000 books, giving 1,080,000 children access to books, and helped establish another seven libraries. We have trained and continue to support 189 volunteers in Kenya and 91 in the UK. We organise five types of developmental activities each year that are attended by more than 1,600 children and volunteers. Our seven playgrounds are providing daily entertainment to more than 800 children.

Your donation will help us build a new Library and Learning Centre and continue to support all our already established Centres. But more importantly, it will give 1,000s of children the chance to read a book, very likely their very first book of their lives.
