Help children to recover from lockdown in an outdoor learning space.
Can you help us to build an outdoor classroom at Jubilee Primary School in Brixton?
Spending time outside has been shown to reduce stress and help concentration – both key priorities at a time when most of our pupils are trying to catch up after missing half a year of school.
The idea for this new outdoor shelter is to help children learn outside in all weather. It could even help to keep the school open this year as coronavirus infections rise. We need funds to build it and buy equipment.
Our local community have always been very supportive of Jubilee and this is a great way to get involved this year. If you are using this page to sponsor a child to complete the outdoor obstacle course, there will be an opportunity to share a message of support for them on this page. Any donations – however small – would mean a lot to the school, the children and their families.
About us: Jubilee is a community primary school in the heart of Brixton. We have over 400 pupils, aged from 3-11.
A lot of our pupils spent lockdown in small flats or houses with no outside space, affecting their physical and mental health. It’s great for them to be back at school, where there is plenty of room to run around and they are helping to grow things.
This crowdfunder has been set up by the Jubilee Parents Group as a replacement for our usual fundraising activities like fairs, cake and uniform sales.
The project is being supported by Marsh & Parsons
We will keep you updated with our progress.
