I have the incredible opportunity to volunteer in Peru with Camps It'l, where I’ll work on community, environment & school projects.

Hey everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to share something super important and exciting with you. In just 15 months, I’ll be heading off to Peru for a massive adventure with Camps International, and I could really use your help to make it all happen!

This isn’t just a holiday for me; it’s an opportunity to work on meaningful community projects while experiencing a culture and life conditions that is so different to ours. Over 50% of Peruvians live in poverty, and a massive 25% are in extreme poverty. It’s heartbreaking to think that many people, especially kids, don’t have what we take for granted, like running water or access to healthcare.

During this expedition, I’ll have the opportunity to stay with rural communities and engage in various humanitarian and sustainable projects. Our work will include building foundations for essential structures, enhancing health and welfare through improved access to water, food, and education.1742510811_screenshot_2025-03-19_at_13.37.09_large.jpeg

Over the course of four weeks, we will tackle a variety of projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, each aimed at making a meaningful and lasting impact on some of the most pressing issues facing the region. Our efforts will directly contribute to improving education and sanitation in some of Peru’s poorest areas.

We’ll learn how to construct schools, community centres, renovate homes, build toilet blocks, and much more, providing much-needed facilities that many of us often take for granted.

We will also be lucky enough to work with animal conservation - I am extremely grateful for this opportunity.

In the evenings, I’ll get to spend time with local families to play games, take part in  language classes, help in the kitchen, and most importantly, create meaningful connections with the people I am there to help.

Now, let’s talk about what this experience means for me too! This isn’t just a chance to help others; it’s also an incredible opportunity for personal development. I’ll be building leadership skills, improving my communication, and learning to work effectively as part of a team1742510574_screenshot_2025-03-19_at_13.45.58_large.jpeg—all things that can massively benefit my future education and career. It’s amazing how much you can grow and learn when you’re placed outside your comfort zone and into a totally different environment!

Part of the adventure includes trekking the Inca Trail, specifically the Salkantay route, which takes five days of hiking through stunning scenery all the way up to Machu Picchu. I know I'm so lucky to have this opportunity so I’ll need to be in pretty good shape!  I’ll be training hard over the next few months, building my endurance and breaking in my rucksack for that extra challenge!

To help raise the £5,000 I need for this trip, I’m selling organic homemade pet treats (watch this space for links to treat your pet) and running various events like car boot sales, competitions, and even photos of our local junior football teams! I’ll be creating videos of supercars and lots more, so stay tuned for some fun activities. Every little bit I can make will go straight to supporting these incredible people.

I would really appreciate any support you can offer me. Every little bit counts and can truly make a difference! If you’re a UK taxpayer, your generous donation can even receive an extra 28% boost through Gift Aid, which is just amazing! Thank you so much for considering helping me on this journey.
