Additional money will be spent on additional equipment for the group.

Aim: We're raising money to buy music equipment for Calderdale's youth folk groups, Jiggerie Folkerie and The Uncle Bucket Club

Each week, kids aged 10-18 gather to chat, laugh, and play folk music – on guitars, fiddles, whistles, ukeles, bodhrans. This is Jiggerie Folkerie, our Calderdale Youth Folk Group.

Jiggerie Folkerie is joyful and inclusive, and hugely important to the kids who take part in it. It’s also entirely self-funded, largely held together by the commitment and energy of group leader Jenny Trott.

It also has an offshoot senior band - The Uncle Bucket Club -  which is available for public performances, gigs and ceilidhs. Uncle Bucket offers its members a different relationship with music, and an invaluable insight into the demands and rewards of music as a career.

In order to develop this exciting opportunity for all group members, we’d like to buy some  equipment which would be owned by the group, and could be used for public events such as gigs, busking and folk music competitions.

We would massively appreciate any help in reaching our current target of £500, which would enable us to buy microphones. Any additional funds will be spent on  visiting tuition, room hire, trips and group expenses.

Large or small, your donation will support our kids, our community, and the future of folk music.

Thank you.
