Jez is cycling to fight modern slavery

Aim: Raise awareness and funds towards the fight against modern slavery and the fantastic work that the Tribe Freedom Foundation do.
Did you know that the number of people at risk of modern slavery is growing? Things like Covid-19 and Climate Change have increased the risk of exploitation and it’s estimated that 50 million people are currently living in slavery, globally.
The need for action has never been greater. So… Nationwide colleagues are joining a cycling relay challenge, raising money for anti-slavery charity, TRIBE Freedom Foundation. TRIBE are one of our community grants partners and, in the last year alone, awarded more than £300,000 to support almost 500 survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking.
In a team of cyclists we aim to cycle as far as possible in the Relay for Love challenge which is running over two weeks – from Wednesday 4th October, in the lead up to Anti-Slavery Day on Wednesday 18th October, across three of our admin sites on indoor bikes and remotely.
