Miscarriage acknowledgement

I lost my darling Jaime in 2019 at 12 weeks gestation. It tore my world apart and caused a number of dramatic changes.

Having received very little information at the hospital, I struggled with so many things for what felt like a lifetime. I didn't know how to acknowledge my baby and no one knew how to talk to me, suddenly I was being faced with comments that were hurtful not comforting.

In 2022, having found support groups on social media, I realised that I was not alone in feeling I hadn't done enough to acknowledge my darling baby or how I should go about it and so began JB Certificates of Life.

Miscarriages are not officially recorded, babies lost are not issued a certificate (of life or death). JB Certificates of Life produce a certificate for parents and are logged on a register that will be available when official bodies acknowledge that a log is required.

Family and friends mean well but if they have not had the same experience they do not know what or how to talk to you. JB Certificates of Life are working to break the silence, producing Acknowledgement Cards which can be given at the time of a miscarriage or on the anniversary of a miscarriage.

Each mother (YES even though your baby is not with you, you are still a mother/mum/mummy/mom) feels and grieves in their own way and this is why I offer two styles of certificates, a range of 'acknowledgement cards' and gifts.

As someone once told me "Asking for help isn't a sign of anything but strength", somehow I vow to find the strength for us all.
