Terms & Conditions for Jason’s Cause Ultimate Local Prize Draw

1)    By entering this prize draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2)    The promoter is Jason’s Cause, address 17 Bluebell Road, Frome, Somerset BA115EU. Jason's Cause is a fundraising campaign to raise money to support Jason Knight's rehabilitation following his electrocution. It also gives back to the charities who saved his life, namely Wiltshire Air Ambulance (Reg. Charity No. 1144097) and Southmead Hospital Charity (Registered Charity No: 1055900). 20% of all proceeds raised through Jason’s Cause will be shared equally between these two charities, with the remainder going to support Jason’s rehabilitation.

Eligibility

3)    Entry is permitted from the United Kingdom Only. It is strongly advised that entries are only made by those who live within a close proximity to Frome, Somerset where Jason’s Cause is based (BA115EU). This is due to the nature of the prizes and the fact they are from businesses within the locality of Jason’s Cause and will need to be collected in person from BA11 5EU within 21 days of the prize draw. Note that due to the nature of some prizes (see clause 16 below) they may need to be collected within 2 days of the prize draw on 3rd July 2024, as they are perishable. The winner must present identification upon collecting their prize and if they are unable to do so, will be disqualified and the prize will be reallocated as detailed in clause 16 below, for this reason courier collections are not accepted.

4)    Anyone entering the prize draw accepts that in the event that they win a Prize, they are responsible for their own travel to and from any location whereby a prize is to be redeemed (in this case, BA11 5EU). In the event anyone entering the prize draw is unable to collect the Prize they win in person from BA11 5EU, within either 2 days of the prize draw (in the event of winning a perishable Prize) or within 21 days of the Prize Draw, please see clause 16 below.

5)    Entrants must be 18-years of age or over on 29 May 2024. 

Entry Requirements and Entry Period

6)    Paid entry to the prize draw is available via Crowdfunder 

7)    For free entry by post to the prize draw, please address a written entry request to Jason’s Cause, 17 Bluebell Road, Frome, Somerset BA11 5EU.

8)    The prize draw opens at 21:30 GMT on 29 May 2024 and closes at 12:00 GMT on Wednesday 3rd July 2024 (the ‘Entry Period’). Any entries received after the Entry Period will not be accepted and will be treated as a donation to Jason’s Cause.

9)    Jason’s Cause is not responsible for any delays in postal delivery by Royal Mail. 

The Draw and The Prize Winners

10)    The draw will take place on Wednesday 3rd July 2024 (the ‘Draw Date’).

11)    Once the Entry Period is closed, each individual valid entry will be entered into the draw.

12)    On the Draw Date the administrator of the draw (Jason’s Cause) will use a random number generator to select thirteen (13) Prize winners from the valid entries, plus thirteen (13) additional entries for use as a reserve list in the event that the Prize winner(s) cannot be contacted in line with clause 16 below. 

13)    Multiple entries per person are permitted, but only one Prize per person will be given. For the avoidance of doubt, each entrant will only be entitled to one of the 13 Prizes, as listed in clause 18.

14)    The first number to be drawn will win the First Prize as defined in clause 18(a), the second number to be drawn will win the Second Prize as defined in clause 18(b), with each of the first 13 numbers drawn to win the correspondingly numbered Prize as set out in clause 18 (a)-(m). 

15)    The Prize winners will be notified by email and/or first-class post within 10 days of the Draw Date. Winners will be given instructions on how to claim their prize in the same email or letter. 

16)    In the event that a Prize winner does not make contact with Jason’s Cause to claim their Prize within twenty-one (21) days of the Draw Date, or is disqualified from the draw, or is unable to personally collect any physical Prize from BA11 5EU and present identification, or is unable to collect any perishable Prize within 2 days of the prize draw from BA11 5EU (namely those Prizes within clauses 18 (j)-(l) , Jason’s Cause will allocate their Prize to one of the reserve list names (in priority order, starting with the 14th person identified in the draw). 

17)    Jason’s Cause’s decision as to the Prize winners is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

b)    Second Prize: Four day passes into Centre Parcs, Longleat Forest;

c)    Third Prize: ESPA Beauty Products;

f)    Sixth Prize: Yves Saint Laurent 'Myself' Eau de Parfum 60ml for him + Castello's Italian Restaurant £50 voucher, Professional Car Valet Voucher from LDN Valeting and Detailing worth £20 + 3 litre box of Lilley's Bee Sting Cider;

g)    Seventh Prize: AFTERNOON TEA FOR TWO at the Abbey Tea Bar, ABBEY HOTEL, Bath plus a Morrisons Surprise Hamper and a voucher for an interior valet service from Cameo Valeting;

h)    Eighth Prize: Indulgent 30 min Massage from ASK4ALICE + handtied bouquet of fresh flowers from FLOWERVISION + a voucher for 5 Pilates classes from Amie Hawker Dance and Pilates;

i)    Ninth Prize: Indulgent Neck, Shoulder and Scalp Massage from Not Just Nails, Westbury + Voucher toward Hair from Hair at Home with Sarah +  handtied bouquet of fresh flowers from Flowervision;

j)    Tenth Prize: Cut & Blow Dry at Coiffure Hair Salon, £20 voucher toward jewellery from Griffin Jewellers, a Laura Ashley Hand Wash and Lotion set and a Habitat ceramic candle holder and candle set;

k)    Eleventh Prize: £50 worth of Vouchers to THE WALNUT TREE INN, Mere plus a £50 voucher for Castello's Italian Restaurant;

l)     Twelfth Prize: A voucher for a Box of Floral Cupcakes by Petals Bakehouse + Bouquet of Fresh Flowers from Flowervision, Bristol + 5 x Fitness Class passes to The Studio, Frome;

m)  Thirteenth Prize: A Collectable Leopard Print Handbag from Tamanash alongside Just Donna, a voucher from Fore Hair for a Cut and Blow-Dry, Westbury, a voucher for a carvery for 2 persons at Warminster Conservative Club and a £50 voucher toward a Tattoo by Molly at The Riverhouse, Warminster;

19)    The Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

20)    The receipt by the winning entrant of any of the Prizes is conditional upon the winning entrant’s compliance with these rules. 

Postal Entry

21)    Postal entrants may enter the promotion: 

a)    by mailing their full name and a contact telephone number (including area code if providing a landline number) or other method of contact (as applicable), to the following postal address:

Jason’s Cause, 17 Bluebell Road, Frome, Somerset BA11 5EU; and

b)    by sending an entry within an envelope. Entries received other than in an envelope will not be accepted.

22)    In the case of multiple entries received in a single envelope, only one entry will be entered into the draw.

23)    Entries sent by post;

a)    must be received at the relevant postal address specified for entries by the end of the Entry Period as specified in Clause 8.

b)    Entries which have not been given the correct and sufficient payment for postage will be invalid and will not be considered.

24)    Personal and hand delivered entries will not be accepted.

General

25)    Jason’s Cause shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations to the winner(s) if such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Neither shall Jason’s Cause be liable to the winner(s) for any loss or damage suffered in connection with this prize draw and/or the Prize, save in respect of death or personal injury caused by the negligence or fraud of Jason’s Cause.

26)    Jason’s Cause reserves the right to make any reasonable amendments to these Terms and Conditions at any stage. In this event, a notice will be posted on our social media channels including Facebook and Instagram. Jason’s Cause also reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.

27)    As a condition of entering the prize draw, entrants must ensure that, by doing so, they do not contravene any laws of their country of residence. Jason’s Cause will not be liable in any way if any entrant enters the prize draw unlawfully.

28)    Entrants may be required to participate in publicity without further consent or payment, such publicity including without limitation the entrant’s name, entry or any information provided by the entrant, including photographs and videos. This information may be used by Jason’s Cause in any and all media, including but not limited to Jason’s Cause social media platforms, in perpetuity throughout the world as Jason’s Cause may decide. 

29)    Any personal information collected by Jason’s Cause in connection with a prize draw will be used in accordance with data protection laws.

30)    A list of winners can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Jason’s Cause, 17 Bluebell Road, Frome, Somerset BA11 5EU together with details of the prize draw winners list you require within thirty (30) days from the Draw Date.

31)    Jason’s Cause will make available information indicates that a Prize has been awarded under this draw.  To comply with this obligation Jason’s Cause will send the surname and county of prize winners to anyone who writes to the address above (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one (1) month after the Draw Date stated in Clause 10. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Jason’s Cause at ‘[email protected]. In such circumstances, Jason’s Cause must still provide the information and winning entries to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

32)    This prize draw and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising therefrom.
