Who we are

"Jam Up!" is more than just a digital platform—it's a labour of love born from personal experience and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families with autistic children.

Created by Rachael, a  physiotherapist with nearly 20 years of experience and PhD student, Jam Up! is inspired by her own journey as a mother trying to support her son with daily tasks like getting dressed and making it out the door for school with a smile on his face.

What we're doing at Jam Up!

We know firsthand how tough it can be to start the day on a positive note for many families, which is why we've poured our hearts into developing Jam Up! Our first task, "getting dressed," is set to launch as a web app in October 2024 and on Android and iPhone in November. This task isn't just about getting ready—it's about building confidence, independence, and a sense of achievement. We've worked closely with healthcare professionals to create engaging videos, and we've added a touch of fun with a gamified task featuring an adorable pet that guides children through the process, making it easier for them and less stressful for parents / carers.

Why it's important

  • One in three mothers have given up work entirely to care for their SEND child
  • Almost three in four mothers believe the SEND system is broken
  • There has been a 787% increase in autism diagnosis rates over the last 20 years
  • 73% of mothers feel that they don't have enough support as a SEND mother

In summary: It's difficult and we need to provide better support for families

Why we're crowdfunding

We're aiming to fund our marketing campaign to reach as many families as possible, including those who might otherwise struggle to access such support. With your backing, we can also provide free access to 60 families through four wonderful charities that have supported us from the start: #Dream the Change, #SEND Tavistock, #Anna Kennedy and #Essex Family Forum.

Subscribe to The Jam Up! App by choosing a reward

We want to give back to our community, which is why we're offering free 6-month and 12-month subscriptions as rewards in this crowdfunding campaign. These subscriptions can be gifted to someone you know who would benefit from Jam Up!—because we believe that every child deserves a brighter start to their day.

We'll be launching the App at the end of October
