This beautiful boy - Jake - was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer when he was just 5 months old. He's been through over a year of treatment. And now he's relapsed. You can help.
JAKE'S JOURNEY SO FAR
Jake was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma as a baby. It is one of the most aggressive and difficult cancers to treat in children. On diagnosis, the survival odds are 40-50%. On relapse, those odds drop further still.
Brave Jake - from Sunderland - has spent nearly 18 months in treatment. Most of his little life so far.
He's been through:
- Chemotherapy
- High dose chemotherapy
- Radiotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Surgery
- Scans
- Stem cell transplant
- And more
He's spent countless days in hospital and endured treatment that no-one should have to go through - let alone a little child.
Two months ago Jake completed treatment and rang the bell.
Now, the unimaginable has happened. Jake has relapsed. And he needs to start treatment again.
He's had brain surgery twice in the last few weeks. And is about to start chemotherapy again. All with a smile on his brave little face.
WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR
Cancer increases costs AND reduces parents' ability to work. No parent should sit at their child's bedside and have to worry about money.
The money raised will help Jake's family to cope with the costs of cancer.
Like paying for:
- Food. Parents don't get fed while they are staying in hospital with their child and buying food at hospital is so expensive.
- Transport. Parents have to get to and from hospital and that's not cheap.
- Bills. Household bills are still there, even when you're not at home.
- Treats. Little gifts to keep Jake's spirits up during treatment like toys, books, and craft supplies.
Please help this amazing family focus on Jake and not have to worry about money at this unimaginably difficult time 🙏
WHO IS RUNNING THIS FUNDRAISER
This fundraiser is by friends of Jake and his family. We have been in hospital alongside Jake as our daughter got treatment for the same cancer. We are devastated to see Jake back in hospital and just want to help the family. All funds go directly to them.
No press enquiries at this difficult time please.
