Jacks Legacy has successfully rehabilitated and released sick and injured wild birds and small animals since June 2024. In this time we have “make shifted” our outside area, and made do with any donated cages etc. Now is the time to put in a more permanent arrangement so we can build and new aviary, which we already have the materials for, but first a foremost we need a stable, level base that is rodent proof, and easily dis-infected. We have a company who has quoted us, and is willing to donate 20% of the total quote. We have already started digging in our “spare” time but with all our babies and sick patients (and new arrivals everyday) we don’t have a lot of spare time. Jacks new aviary will consist of 4 separate areas for different species. This step is crucial to their release as they need the outside room to regain their stamina and for the babies, they learn to forage in a natural environment. The new aviary will be fully natural which is perfect for “wilding up”
