On 28th January 2022, Jack Dawson aged only 39, lost his life after a short but courageous battle with cancer that he fought bravely to the very end.
Jack passed away surrounded by his beloved wife Alice, his parents Pauline and Stephen, his best friend and older brother Luke, and his younger brother and sister, Joey and Millie.
Adored son, caring brother, loving husband, devoted father, enthusiastic uncle and jovial friend to so many, Jack had an insatiable appetite for life. He would successfully fill each day with adventure, joy, banter, laughter and of course his family.
Jack made an impression on people wherever he went; he had a charismatic personality that magnetised people towards him. Often, at most social events, Jack would be in the centre of the action telling stories and bringing smiles to the listener's faces.
Jack tackled his diagnosis in the same way he approached everything else; with determination, vigour and an uncompromising desire to succeed. In addition, Jack’s bedside manner to all the healthcare professionals treating him was courteous and kind right up to the end - his appreciation for all those helping him never faltered, not once. Regrettably, we know now that this was a battle he could not win and now we are faced with the unimaginable loss of a young life taken too soon and too quickly.
Jack is now at peace and will live on through his three beautiful children, Evie (7), Annabel (5) and George (2).
